Maureen M. Broeker, 82 of Effingham, died Tuesday morning, December 10, 2019 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A parish wake service and C.C.W. rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church with visitation following until 7:00 p.m.. Memorial donations may be given to St. Anthony Schools. Maureen was born August 12, 1937, in Effingham, the daughter of Maurice H. and Margaret M.(Thies) Imming. She married Robert Broeker on June 14, 1958 and he survives. Maureen was a member of deColores and the Council of Catholic Women. She poured out her faith as an active, lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham.
Maureen is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Maggie (Vic) Doedtman, Roberta (Dennis) Meyer, Theresa Griffin, Jon (Lisa) Broeker, Monica (Doug) Feldhake, Jeannine (Rob) Lehman, Anne (Kenny) Miller, Kristen (Jeff) Rodgers, Gerard Broeker, Greg (Misty) Broeker, Ted (Heather) Broeker and Madonna Broeker; brother, Robert (Amy) Imming; 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Lee Griffin.
