Madonna R. Lustig, 87 of Effingham, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.
Private family graveside services will be held at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Online condolences may be left by clicking here.
Madonna was born June 2, 1932 at home in Lillyville, the daughter of Otto and Agnes (Deters) Schmacher. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and worked for many years as a registered nurse.
Madonna is survived by her sons, Leland J. and Greg W. Lustig (friend, Lori Traub), both of Effingham; grandchildren, Derrick Lustig, Dylan Lustig, Vanessa (Chad) Kessler and Kyle Lustig (fiance, Natalyn) of Seattle, WA; great-granddaughter, Charolette Kessler; brother, Tony (Rosie) Schumacher; brothers-in-law, Brian Lustig and Norbie (Josie) Lustig and sister-in-law, Jeanne (Jim) Colignon.
Madonna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Deborah; infant sister, Catherine and brothers, Joseph and Charles Schumacher; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Cathrin) Lustig, Charlie (Norma) Lustig, Norbie (Josie) Lustig; sister-in-law, Marge Lustig, Lillian (Harvey) Croft, Donna (Tom) Clayton and Marlind (Joe) Polocavic.
