Giovanna Capezzuto, 88, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at her home in Effingham.

A private family memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, where she was a member for many years. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Giovanna was born May 2, 1933 in Paluzza, Italy, the daughter of Paulo and Orsola (Gragero) Ortis. She was a day care provider for 14 years at Kiddie Corner and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Giovanna is survived by her husband, Nicola of Effingham; children, Riccardo (Nancy) Capezzuto of Aurora, Roberto (Rebecca) Capezzuto of Peachtree City, GA, & Teresa Hughes of Plainfield; grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie), Alexandra, Nicola, Massimiliano, Nina, Marissa and Domenico.
