Carrie Miller, 79, of Brownstown, passed away at 7:14 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021, at home with her daughter and son-in-law present by her side.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Brownstown with Joe Lawson officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Carrie was born on Thursday, January 8, 1942, in Rural Brownstown, Illinois to Wayne and Bernice (Orr) Sidwell. She married Robert L. ‘Rob’ Miller on February 26, 1982, and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2020. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, rural Brownstown. During her working career, she had been a shipping and receiving clerk for P.N. Hirsch Warehouse., Vandalia, and was a stock clerk with Wal-Mart, Vandalia before her retirement. In her retirement, she and Rob enjoyed motorcycle rides and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by: her daughter, Debra (Gery) Long of Brownstown; son, Tony (Lisa) Gray of Patoka, Robbie Miller, Jr. of Carlyle; brother-in-law, Charles (Lola Jean) Miller of Keyesport; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many and nieces and nephews.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tim Gray, and one grandson, Timothy Gray.
