Peggy Sue Hoover, 60, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at her home with her husband of 21 years by her side.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Fear Nothing. Peggy grew up in Olney, IL and was a graduate of Olney Central College. She was a long-time employee of Heartland Dental. Prior to that, she worked for the American Cancer Society. Peggy loved gardening, quilting, reading, and crafting. She was an active member of First Christian Church in Shelbyville which was an important part of her life.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Ron Hoover of Effingham; two brothers, David (Jane) of Hermleigh, TX and Dannie (Debbie) of Riverview, Florida; three sisters, Sheila Perrine of Oblong, Becky Clark (Ray) of Dundas, and Shelby Resor (Greg) of Claremont; brother-in-law, Billy Leatherwood of Snyder, TX; sistersin law, Floita of Mineral Wells, TX, Edith of Snyder, TX, and Pauline of Snyder, TX; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Maxine (Bare) Witte; brothers, Johnnie, Gary, Mike and Leonard; sister, Shirley Leatherwood; niece, Bobbi Jean; and brother-in-law, Dick Perrine.
