Earl T. Mueller, 80, of Effingham, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham with Rev. Mike Burdick officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Altamont. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at the church and for one hour prior to service time on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Worship Anew, St. John’s Braille Center or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements.
CDC and IDPH guidelines with regard to COVID-19 must be followed. This includes, but is not limited to, face covering and social distancing.
Earl Theodore, the son of Elmer and Alma (Sandersfeld) Mueller, was born on Thursday, April 24, 1941 in Sheboygan, WI. He married Doris G. Stuemke on June 29, 1963 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Altamont. They enjoyed just over 58 years of Holy Matrimony and together created a life and family that he held so dearly to his heart. In 1966, they welcomed their first son, Tim and then five years later they had their second son, Danny.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham having served in various capacities over the years, was a retired transport driver for Keller Oil Co., Effingham, having worked there for over 34 years and was a member of the Effingham City Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time outside watching the birds and squirrels, collecting various things, going for drives and above all else, spending time with his family.
He is survived by: his wife Doris of Effingham; sons, Tim (Lisa) Mueller of Neoga, Danny Mueller of St. Louis, MO; granddaughters, Allison (Broc) Pemberton and Rebecca Mueller both of Neoga; 3 great grandchildren, Roscoe, Reed and Rory Pemberton; sister, Janice (Orville) Heiden of Mason, sisters-in-law, Marsha Mueller of Altamont and Sandi Mueller of Greenville; brothers-in-law Sam (Judy) Stuemke, Dave (Elda) Stuemke and Herb Stuemke all of Altamont and a host of friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne and Lloyd Mueller and sister-in-law, Wanita Stuemke.
