Marilyn June (Decker) Steele (83) of West Chicago

Marilyn June (Decker) Steele, 83, of West Chicago, IL passed away at 6:21 pm Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, in Winfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 23, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday November 23, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Barkley Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in the Bell Cemetery.

Marilyn was born on May 29, 1938, in Greenup, IL to George “Pid” and Eunice (Wade) Decker.

She is survived by her ex-husband Ray Steele and sons, Kenneth “Ken” (Sharon) Steele of Greenup, IL, William (Liza) Steele of Bloomingdale, IL, and Shane (Sheri) Steele of Montgomery, IL; daughter, Raelyna (Tani Taño) Nunley of Houston, TX; sister, Linda Jean (Gary) Sholders of Greenup, IL; grandchildren, Jammie Casimir, Rachel Steele, Kyle Steele, Wade Steele, Jason, Hailey, Nicholas, Nathan, and Joshua Kidd; great-grandchildren, Tianna Casimir, Aaron Ortiz, and Jaylen Ortiz.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Marilyn was a graduate of Cumberland High School. During her free time, Marilyn loved to go shopping, and enjoyed visiting with people while she shopped. She worked for Western Electric, waitressed for many years, and worked for Jewel-Osco Food in West Chicago.
