Sharon Winter, 77, of Altamont, died at 6:02 a.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with Rev. Victor Votaw officiating. Burial will follow at Arborcrest Memorial Park, rural Effingham. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center, Altamont or the First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.

Sharon Diane Winter was born on Tuesday, January 11, 1944 in Vandalia, IL to Kenneth and Lila (Carpenter) Teter. She married Stanley George Winter on April 1, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia. In addition to raising her family she had worked at the Holiday Inn and Walmart both in Effingham.
She is survived by; her son, Shawn (Melissa) Winter of Altamont; daughter, Shelli (Travis) Stein of Altamont; brother, Jeff (Sandy) Teter of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, Donna Teter of Pana; grandsons, Dalton Stein and Austin Winter; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by; her parents; brother, John Teter; sister, Kay Winter.
