Jonah T. Brett, 42, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Winfield, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
A Celebration of Life will take place at New Salem Baptist Church in Winfield, Missouri from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Jonah was born on June 5, 1979, in Mexico, MO, the son David Brett and Marsha (nee Durham) Jirsa. Jonah graduated from Winfield High School in 1997. He attended ITT Technical Institute in St. Louis, MO earning an associate degree in CAD. In 2011, Jonah began his career at John Boos & Co and loved what he did. He was a quiet, go lucky person who loved his cats. He also enjoyed playing pool and throwing darts. Jonah was a very kind-hearted and caring son and brother.
Jonah is survived by his mother, Marsha (Dave) Jirsa of Sunrise Beach, MO; father, David Brett of Winfield, MO; sister, Kaleana (Andrew) Wright of Foley, MO; grandparents, Bill and Katie Matthews of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; niece, Emily Wright of Foley, MO; and nephew, Levi Wright of Foley, MO.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Ossie “Sonny” and Elaine Durham, and AT Brett.
