Norma Jean Rue, age 95, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 6:05 AM Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Casey, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Hazel Dell Church of Christ in Hazel Dell, Illinois, with Randy Rue officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell North Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. In loving memory of Norma, memorials may be made to the Hazel Dell Church of Christ. Norma Jean was born on January 9, 1927, in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Elbert Leroy and Clara (Vanatta) Dunn. She married Joseph Rue on November 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2000. Norma graduated from Champaign High School. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Norma was a member of the Hazel Dell Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Norma is survived by: Children – Rick Rue of Greenup, Illinois; Don (Becky) Rue of Greenup, Illinois; and Jeanne (Ron) Miller of Brenham, Texas; Granddaughters – Casey (Chuck) Mason and Mandy (Mike) Brackett; Great Grandchildren – Phoebe Mason, Katie Mason and Lexi Brackett; Sisters – Joann Vance of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Vicki Zink of Casey, Illinois.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Dale, Don and John Dunn, and sisters Myrna Roberts and Phyllis Malm.
