Linda Rose, 84, of Effingham passed away peacefully at 6:14 AM on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Lavender Ridge Memory Care Facility in Effingham.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham with Pastor John Macadangdang Taliwaga officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the service begins. Burial will follow in Funkhouser Cemetery. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Linda was born on July 3, 1937, the seventh child of Art and Vera (Henderson) Hankins. She attended Defiance School and Effingham High School. In 1954, she married Joe Cash and together they had five children. They later divorced and in 1977, she married Myron (M.J.) Rose who preceded her in death in 2006. Linda worked for many years at Effingham State Bank. She was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School and helping with dinners. She was also a United Methodist Lay Speaker. She was a Toastmistress (International Training in Communication) and was active in the community, volunteering at the Cross and for FISH and the United Way. She enjoyed feeding the wildlife in her backyard, working outside, and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball.

She is survived by her five children: Jeff (Conni) Cash of Effingham, LouAnne (Bob) Pillers of Kendallville, IN, Brian (Julia) Cash of Bloomington, John (Rhonda) Cash of Greenup and Lori Rose of Carterville; grandchildren: Megan (Chad) Kutscher, Michael (Amy) Cash, Kacey Bennett, Lindsey (Brent) Stevenson, Rob (Courtney) Pillers, Jaime Cash, Jenna (Gus) Kritikos, Ryan (Lindy) Cash, Kyle (Dori) Cash, Krista (Matt) Eversole, Nicole (Craig) Iannello, Baleigh Bohannon, and Jensin and Kaid Koester, and twenty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Kae Whitaker of Sigel, brother, Melvin (Trudi) Hankins of Effingham, sisters-in-law Dorothy Hankins and Erma Hankins, both of Florida, and Marilyn Hankins of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gordon, Lloyd, and Larry Hankins and sisters Wanda Martin, Faye Burch, Shirley Arnold, and Marion Zehner.
