Virginia Eileen Butts (83) of Kinmundy

Virginia Eileen Butts, age 83, of Kinmundy, Illinois, passed away at 9:10 pm Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Vandalia Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Vandalia, Illinois.

Virginia was born on April 22, 1941, in Carlinville, Illinois, to Ezra Taylor and Sylvia Pearl (Ward) Noble. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Earl David "Sonny" Butts, whom she married on May 25, 1963, in Carlinville, Illinois, and they shared 56 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 18, 2019. Virginia, a passionate homemaker, dedicated her life to the service and care of her family, creating a home filled with warmth and love. She was a woman of grace and strength, who embraced the simple joys of life with enthusiasm and optimism. Virginia's radiant smile and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Virginia was a woman who knew the true value of a good book and a quiet moment. An avid reader, she often found solace and inspiration within the confines of a captivating story. Virginia loved going out and about, shopping, and finding hidden gems in unexpected places, her vibrant personality making every outing an adventure. Above all else, Virginia cherished her family, her devotion to them was the cornerstone of her existence. Her loving nature and nurturing spirit made her home a sanctuary of warmth and love.

Virginia is survived by her children: Michael Butts of Kinmundy, Tammy Butts of Centralia, Amy (Travis) Landes of Kinmundy; 5 grandchildren: Calvin (Shannon) Edwards of Mt. Vernon, Emily Butts of Centralia, Jace Butts (fiancée Cheyenne Burnley) of Alma, Allison Landes of Kinmundy, Tanner Landes of Kinmundy; her brothers: Bill Noble of Carlinville, Illinois, Dale (Phyllis) Noble of Wood River, Illinois.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; great grandson: Jackson Edwards; a brother: Kenny Noble.

Funeral services to celebrate Virginia's life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 6, 2024, at the McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy with Thomas Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Elder Cemetery, rural Kinmundy. Visitation will be held on Friday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family to help with final expense. The McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy is honored to be entrusted with the families' care and arrangements.
