St. Anthony Downs Altamont in Rematch from Saturday; Other Tuesday Action

Altamont defeated St. Anthony in baseball action Saturday, but St. Anthony got some revenge in the NTC-counting game on Tuesday, posting an 8-6 win.
St. Anthony jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the first inning and adding a run in the second.
St. Anthony made it 6-0 in the top of the fourth, but Altamont bounced back with three runs of their own to make it 6-3. Altamont made it 6-4 with a run in the sixth.
St. Anthony extended their lead to 8-4 in the top of the seventh, but Altamont went down fighting, scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh before falling by two runs.
Colin Koester got the win for the Bulldogs, going five innings and allowing three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out two. Dylan Guy pitched the final two innings, allowing three runs on four hits.
Alek Biggs took the loss for Altamont, allowing six runs on five hits and seven walks in 3-1/3 innings of work, striking out four. Hammer pitched the final 3-2/3 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, one four hits and a walk while fanning three.
At the plate for St. Anthony: Kaden Fearday singled twice and walked and scored twice; Dylan Guy singled and walked and scored a run; Blake Niebrugge singled twice and walked; Colin Koester walked twice and drove in a run; Davis Tingley singled and walked and drove in two runs; Bryson Wall singled and scored; Hunter Stephens reached base and scored; Jack Hoene walked and scored; Gavin Braunecker doubled and singled and walked and scored a run; and Eli Moore scored a run.
At the plate for Altamont: Kuhlman walked twice and scored a run; Noah Teasley doubled and scored two runs; Alek Biggs singled and drove in a run; Robbins singled and walked and scored a run with one RBI; Hunter Cripe doubled and scored with one RBI; Devan Guerrettaz singled and scored a run; Baucum doubled and walked and drove home a run; and Hammer singled.
St. Anthony improved to 5-1 on the fall and 3-0 in the National Trail Conference. Altamont is now 4-3 on the campaign, 2-2 in the NTC.

Brownstown/St. Elmo held on Tuesday for a 4-3 win over Windsor/Stew-Stras at Windsor.
BSE had a 3-0 lead before WSS scored in the fourth, but BSE got the run back in the top of the fifth. The Hatchets scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, but BSE held on for the win.
Nate Philpot got the win for BSE, pitching 5-2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits with seven strikeouts and six walks. Nick Rosborough got the save.
Sayers took the loss for the Hatchets, allowing two earned runs on three hits with two walks against one strikeout.
At the plate for BSE: Bryton Pruett doubled; Nate Philpot had three hits including a double and drove in two runs; Caleb Atwood had two hits including a double and drove in a run; Nick Rosborough drove in a run;and Andy Goldsborough singled.
At the plate for WSS: Bennett singled, Wernsing singled, Vonderheide had two hits, and Slifer singled.
BSE is now 2-3 on the season, 2-2 in the NTC.

South Central won over Dieterich 8-1 Tuesday.
Dieterich scored in the first, but the Cougars took a 2-1 lead in the second, scored four times in the fifth and added two runs in the sixth to post the win.
Lotz got the win, allowing the one run in 5-1/3 innings of work, allowing five hits and three walks while fanning five. Dodson pitched the final 1-2/3 innings with six strikeouts.
Bohnhoff took the loss for Dieterich, allowing eight runs, four earned, on 10 hits and three walks while fanning five. Hartke got the final out, allowing one hit.
At the plate for South Central: Dodson doubled and singled and walked and scored a run; Lotz singled twice and walked and scored twice; Brandt reached base and scored; Patten doubled and singled, scored twice and drove in a run; VanScyoc singled and walked, scored a run and drove in a run; Lybarger doubled and singled, scored and drove in two runs; Rubin singled and drove in a run; and Roberts singled.
At the plate for Dieterich: Will singled; Gephart reached base and scored; Hunzinger doubled and walked; Niebrugge singled; Bohnhoff singled and drove in a run; and Boerngen singled.

Neoga defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 14-3 in a five-inning game Tuesday.
Each team scored in the first, but Neoga added six in the second, three in the third and four runs in the fourth. CHBC scored twice in the fifth, but fell by the 10-run rule.
Lanham got the win for Neoga, allowing just one unearned run in four innings of work, allowing five hits and one walk against five strikeouts. Young pitched the final inning, allowing two unearned runs on two hits with a strikeout.
Manley took the loss, giving up nine runs, four earned, on six hits and two walks in 2-1/3 innings, striking out two. Wells pitched an inning, giving up five runs, three earned, on five hits and a walk while fanning two. Robertson got the last two outs, allowing a hit and posting a strikeout.
At the plate for Neoga: Lacy walked and scored; Young singled, scored twice and drove in four runs; Fearday singled and drove in a run; Moore doubled and singled, scored a run and drove home two runs; Banning singled three times, scored twice and drove in a run; Lanham singled and walked and scored twice; Vaughn singled twice and walked, scored three runs and drove in two runs; and Romack singled twice, scored three times and drove in a run.
At the plate for CHBC: Schlanser singled and walked and scored a run; Manley singled; Miller doubled and scored; Lowry singled and scored; Clearwater singled; Weber singled; and Burrus singled.
