The Ivy League canceled all winter sports Thursday, including men’s and women’s basketball, due to the coronavirus pandemic, becoming the first Division I conference to do so.

The decision came 13 days before the scheduled start of the college basketball season. The Ivy League cited the “current trends regarding transmission,” as the coronavirus is surging across the country.
